Brand assets and reference roles

Outcome: Build a rights-aware reference-role sheet with clean product, character, environment, and style inputs capped at eight active references.

Objectives

  • Give every reference one declared role and separate traits to preserve from details to ignore.
  • Remove low-quality, contradictory, unlicensed, or unnecessary assets before generation.
  • Create a compact identity and continuity stack that can be reused across shots.

Learn one thing

References are instructions

A reference influences more than the feature you notice. Background, crop, wardrobe, shadows, text, and camera angle can leak into a result unless its role is explicit.

Choose: Label what each file controls and what the model should ignore.
Clean beats numerous

Contradictory references create an impossible vote. A small set of sharp, well-lit, rights-cleared views gives the generator a more coherent identity target.

Choose: Keep no more than eight active references and delete duplicates.
Consent travels with identity

A character asset needs a consent or ownership receipt just as a product asset needs usage rights. A public image is not automatic permission to imitate a person.

Choose: Exclude any likeness whose permission cannot be documented.

Make the artifact

  1. Inventory required roles

    Read the locked script and list only the product, character, environment, and style roles it actually needs.

    Check: Every listed role supports a named shot.
  2. Clean the candidates

    Reject blurry, cropped, contradictory, watermarked, unlicensed, or personally identifying assets without consent.

    Check: Every remaining file has a rights or consent receipt.
  3. Assign one job

    For each reference, write its role, traits to preserve, and details the generator must ignore.

    Check: No reference is labeled merely as inspiration.
  4. Reduce and lock

    Remove duplicates until eight or fewer references remain, then freeze filenames and record the sheet version.

    Check: The stack is coherent and each active file has one primary role.
